Cosplay Process – Natsume Yuujinchou Booklet

NYAAAHAHAHA FINALLY ANOTHER TUTORIAL!! 8D
yep, this time is also another simple tutorial. (simply because I’m lazy and fails at making epic stuffs. PFFFFFT-)

In case you are wondering, this will be a tutorial on making the Yuujinchou Booklet from Natsume Yuujinchou.

at first I wanted to buy it online but uh it wasn’t cheap.
So I decided to just make one with materials I can find at home. haha!

so here I go~

Materials:
Green Paper (slightly thicker than normal A4 paper)
white paper (normal A4 paper type should be fine)
Double-sided tape
Brown tape
Printer / Pencil and marker (well, this will be explained in step 1. xD)
Black paint and paint brush
Red string (thick ones)
Scissors / penknife

Step 1:

– Get your materials ready!
– ok I mentioned about Printer / Pencil and marker. Yes, if you have a printer, go to step 2. If not, skip to step 3!

Step 2:

– You can print the word of the yuujinchou directly. I have made the template here: link
Note: This template is drawn by myself and SHOULD NOT BE POSTED ANYWHERE ELSE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION.
you will have to resize it yourself according to how big you want it to be. :)

Step 3:

– No printer? it is ok. because SAME HERE! LOL!
– Trace the word with the template given on step 2 on a piece of paper, colour it.
– The dimension is for your reference. You can draw a bigger one if needed!

Step 4:

– Gather some blank paper, cut them into the size of your desired yuujinchou booklet size. (mine is 21cm x 11.5cm)
– Starts scribbling the demon names with black paint! UP TO YOUR CREATIVITY! LOLOL!

Step 5:

– Measure the green paper and cut your yuujinchou cover.
– The dimension is for your reference. You can draw a bigger one if needed!

Step 6:

– Cut a piece of white paper, this is for the brown top part of the yuujinchou.
– The dimension is for your reference. You can draw a bigger one if needed!
– Cut the brown tape and make sure it is longer than your white paper.

Step 7:

– Stick the brown tape to the white paper as shown.
– Fold one side of the brown tape down to the white paper.

Step 8:

– As shown on the second image, align and stick the other side of the brown tape to the green paper.

Step 9:

– As shown, stick the rest of the tape to the green paper.

– It should look like this when done. It is advisable to glue the bottom part of the brown tape to the green cover. (as seen in this pic, it is kind of sticking out. D:)

Step 10:

– Get your yuujinchou words ready and stick them onto the cover.
– Cover is almost done! WOOOOT!

Step 11:

– ok this is actually optional but I have seen some designs on the border of the brown part, so I used black marker to draw it. LOL!

Step 12:

– Poke the holes for the red string! Use puncher / needles / pens or whatever you have that is sharp enough to poke through paper. LOL!
– Make sure you punch the holes for the white papers too!
– The dimension is for your reference. You can measure a different one if needed!

Step 13:

– Get your red string and go through the holes of all the pages including the cover.

Step 14:
– Tie a nice knot and YOU ARE DONE!

Simple and cheap isn’t it? hurrrr.

Total time taken to do this: 30mins.
